Privacy Statement

We built Dialogue For Action on a simple belief. What's yours belongs in your hands, including your email address, your words, and anything else about you. This page tells you everything we keep and everything we do with it. It's short because there isn't much to tell.

What we keep. If you join, we keep your email address so we can send you new articles. If you comment, we keep what you wrote, only because you posted it as part of the community dialogue. If you delete a comment, it's gone. When you leave, your address goes with you. That's the whole list. We don't ask for your phone number, your location, your interests, or anything else.

What we never do. No ads. No trackers. No snooping on how you use this site. We never sell, rent, or share your address with anyone. We don't tag the links we send you, and we can't tell who forwards what. We don't track whether you open our emails, and if you do we don't track what you click.

Who else sees anything. This site runs on Ghost, software whose code is public. Anyone can look at how it works. We chose it for that reason. It sends our email and stores our comments for us, and it holds what it needs to do that. That includes your email address if you join, your comments if you write them, and the technical records every server keeps, like what pages were requested and when. It is not allowed to use any of it for anything else.

Site traffic also passes through Cloudflare. Nearly every website on the internet uses Cloudflare or a service like it, because it stands between sites and the attackers who take them offline. Cloudflare sees the technical details of every visit, including your internet address, roughly where you're connecting from, and what pages were requested, the same as it would for any other site. It cannot change what we collect, and it does not know who you are, because we don't either, other than from the name and email you give us.

Your comments belong to you. We won't quote what you wrote in public without asking first. If you ever want a comment removed, you can delete it yourself or ask us. No reason needed.

Using our writing. Our articles are yours to use. Reprint them, quote from them, translate them, read them aloud at a meeting. We only ask that when you do, you say where they came from, and keep them just as open for whoever comes next. (CC BY-SA 4.0.)

Leaving. One click away, from any email we send you. Your address comes off our list, and it is still never given to anyone else.
